about us

Neurotech Network of The Society to Increase Mobility, Inc.  is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization focusing to improve the education of and the advocacy to access neurotechnology devices for persons with impairments.

Charged with a mission to provide information to and for the users and potential users of neurotechnology and to encourage both the growth and the direction of developments in the neurotechnology industry, this organization will fill a needed void to better serve those that may benefit from technology advancements.   Hundreds of thousands of people with neurological or psychiatric disorders have already been helped; such as cochlear implants to restore hearing to the deaf, neuroprosthetics providing movement to the paralyzed, and spine stimulators give relief to those with chronic pain. 

Our Services

Neurotech Network has a vision based on four pillars of service targeted to users, potential users, health care professionals and the general public. These services are:

  1. To Educate with resources to learn about neurotechnology for various neurological conditions
  2. To Update on the latest information along with our newsletter, The Current
  3. To Communicate by sharing stories from people who use neurotechnology devices
  4. To Advocate by supporting access to devices  

With this vision, Neurotech Network builds infrastructure and programming. The following guiding principles provide a road map on how Neurotech Network accomplishes its mission and provides services.

Our Guiding Principles

  • Provide a forum for users to share experiences and for potential users to ask questions.
  • Provide a channel through which the layman may learn about neurotechnology.
  • Promote awareness of neurotechnology products and systems for the treatment of neurological and psychiatric disorders and diseases.
  • Provide reliable and independent information regarding both currently available and emerging neurotechnological devices.
  • Explain to both current and potential users the applications and benefits of neurotechnology.
  • Advocate for access through governmental institutions, insurance companies and legislative bodies.
  • Create a better understanding of users needs to the scientific, development and industry.
