Injured but active, Jennifer French acquired her C6-7 incomplete spinal cord injury in 1998. Prior to her injury, she was recreationally active with such sports as canoeing, snowboarding/skiing, sailing, fly fishing, biking, and scuba diving. Since her injury, she continues to participate in all those activities. She is an active user of an FES system and is the first woman to receive the implanted Stand and Transfer system. Now residing in St. Petersburg, Florida, Jen is active in the community sailing program, as well as racing locally and around the world. French has helped launch successful divisions is such organizations as Bombardier Capital and PC Connection, Inc. With an MBA and her experiences with the disability community, she co-founded this organization and serves as the President and Treasurer.

Amanda is the Co-founder of Challenge Aspen, the Director of Special Projects and a motivational speaker. She is also an FES system user of the Vocare Bladder system. On February 27, 1992 her life took a dramatic turn around and her dance on wheels began. It happened in a split second whilst downhill skiing.  It was a freak somersault which bruised her spinal cord and shattered her eleventh and twelfth thoracic vertebrae, leaving her paralyzed from the hips down with no sensation. She now travels the world to assist in establishing adaptive ski programs in places such as Akureyri, Iceland, Portillo, Chile, and Bariloche, Argentina. Recognition followed for her efforts including the receipt of Colorado Ski Country USA’s 1999/2000 Adaptive Athlete of the Year Award, carrying the 2002 Olympic Torch on her mono-ski – one of 25 torchbearers selected, and Sojourner Magazine’s ‘50 Most Influential People in the Roaring Fork Valley’. As a motivational speaker, she addresses large and small audiences in the community as well as presentations to private corporations and organizations. She has appeared in both local and national media outlets. She serves on the Board of Directors for Challenge Aspen and the Expect A Miracle Now Foundation. As a native Australian, she has called Aspen, Colorado her home for fifteen years.

James is the founder of Micro Publishing Press, Inc., a Torrance, CA-based publishing company that helped pioneer the market for electronic publishing, digital imaging, and computer graphics. After serving during the 1980s as a consultant to both Apple Computer and Xerox Corp. in their efforts to bring desktop publishing products to market, James launched three magazines, two newsletters, a trade paperback imprint, and several market research reports in the industry. Mirco Publishing Press' publications were sold to Cygnus Publishing in 1998. James holds a degree in biomedical engineering from Case Western Reserve University, where he studied under pioneers in the new field of functional electrical stimulation. He has studied human factors engineering at University of Southern California in Los Angeles and spent three years as a member of the technical staff at Hughes Aircraft Company in Los Angeles, where he worked on simulation, training, and publication products produced for the U.S. Department of Defense. James is the author of eight books on computer graphics, electronic publishing, and digital imaging. He is a member of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society. He serves as the Vice President of Neurotech Network.
